Mantra - Om Namah Shivay

Om Namah Shivay”

It is the mantra of Lord Shiva. Folks have gone from being penniless to multi-millionaires by chanting this mantra. Lord Shiva is very innocent God and bestows his blessings immediately on the devotee.

Siva Mantras:

1.
Om Namah Sivaya
2.
Om Haraye Namah
3.

Om Tryambakam yajamahe sugandhim pushtivardhanam Urvarukamiva bandhanat mirityormurkshiya mamaritat
4.
Om Namah Nilakanthaya
5.
Hroum
6.
Proum Hrim thah
7.
Ram ksham mam yam oum um

How should mantras be chanted?

Mantras must be chanted or recited with unwavering devotion and motivation. Chanting them as a matter-of-course deprives them of power and is practically useless from the point of view of conscious growth, evolution and effect.

Are we adequate?

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we
are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most
frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening
about shrinking so that other people won't feel unsure around you. We were
born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in
some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own Light shine, we
unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are
liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Varanasi

Why can't India do a better job of preserving our cultural hotbeds?
Why do we take it for granted?
Varanasi is the holiest of holy cities of the world...
One of our friends got back from vacation and was complaining about the filth..
Why can't the steps into the ganges be preserved, pristine and pure?
Doesn't this filth take us away from the divinity?

Haridwar and Rishikesh are still well preserved..

Haven't been to Varanasi yet - but seemingly the zeal is missing.
Need to get back

Welcome to the spirituality blog

This blog is an offshoot of a website that I had conceived as a result of the spiritual grace and resultant inspiration during Shivaratri Y2K (http://www.jyotirlinga.com) on the joy of Shiva Bhakti and my quest for spiritual progress. Not finding the time (yep, bad excuse!), this blog suits me fine in quickly adding content... my spiritual forays and thoughts - helps log them too. My spiritual journey started with Hinduism and it's simple stories/ teachings as far back as when I was a 2nd grader, with Lord Shiva and has now found convergence with Advaitism / Duality. The Advaitism gurus like Bhagwan Ramana Maharishi, Nisargadatta Maharaj; they have provided that spiritual boost of energy in many lagging moments and have tremendously influenced me ... little baby steps at a time... that will hopefully all lead upto a final crescendo. The merits of satsangh are many!

Your comments (encouragement/ otherwise) are certainly welcome. Thanks for visiting. If you like it, Subscribe to my blog (click here):Posts (Atom).
